1.. Firstly this machine will
probably have a hopper. This does make it much harder to judge how much money
is in it but fortunately all the major wins on my machine are reported to me so
my task in timing when to play it is easier.
2.. There is no cashpot on
this machine so all you can play for is the jackpot which is acheived by
collecting the 5 Treasure Island symbols and entering the central money ring.
There are two ways to do this. The first is by collecting them from the feature
board and the second is by gambling a small win up to a high win and exchanging
in. When I gamble small wins I like to exchange when only 4 of the TI symbols
are offered so that I exchange to the outer feature board and try to collect
the extra TI I need and so enter the inner feature game naturally. This gives
you a much better chance of getting the cash to go very high.
3.. The
signs to look for that it may be ready for Jackpot. The exchange is offered as
low as #5 or #7 consistently AND it lets you gamble to this and exchange. The
occasional feature will offer 'extra booty'. This only seems to happen when it
is ready for a JP. Some features will let the cash go over #10 but not let you
into the middle. You will also find that the treasure chests fill up and the
feature is reluctant to kill you for ages yet is also not offering you very
much. The cash may go above #40 in the centre feature but you are forced to
take it because 'cut&run' gives you the cash.
4.. How to play for
the jackpot. Assuming the signs are there that it may be ready the only thing
you have to do is force the machine and refuse any wins except those that let
you exchange to the centre island. It is common for the machine to climb as
high as #180+ and then give you 'cut&run' and only offer X amount of
Choose- a-wins. Take the smallest win offered (usually #7) and put it back in.
The machine will very soon be ready to go high again. As long as 'cut&run'
doesn't give you the cash you will get the jackpot. It is at this point while
playing for features you should hold the bells on the line. I have noticed that
when the cash is going high the bells do come in which gets the job over and
done with quicker.
5.. Problems. There are some unforeseen horrors on
this machine. To make this clear I will tell a story of my mate at the weekend.
He had only put #7 pounds into the machine and the cash went to #247.40 and the
machine gave hime 'cut&run'. It is criminal that Bellfruit can let this
happen when you are just #2.00 from the JP. He took #7 and put it back in with
another #10.00 and got another feature which took him to #230 and gave him 'cut
&run' also. He took #7 again and put it back in and again got another
feature which gave hime 'cut&run' on the cash when it reached #168.00.
OUCH!! #90 less profit than he deserved. It may be easy to criticise this in
hindsight but normally when you get so close to the JP it will not be snatched
away from you. Lousy programming from Bellfruit I think. Usually though the
machine does behave and after a series of 'cut&run's it will pay the jp. So
remember to hold the bells cos it might cut out all this crap.
